Sanitary Sewer System Replacement - City of Tulsa
Arterial Street Rehabilitation & Maintenance: 41st Street South from Riverside Dr. to Lewis Avenue - City of Tulsa
Verizon Wireless Master Plan - Madden McMillian Architects
Taylor Pond II Residential Development
DeShazo Group was selected to design a large-diameter sanitary sewer replacement system for Tulsa, Oklahoma.  This engineering study covers approximately a 17.6 square-mile area of fully developed urban environment.  The pipeline will be located within 61st Street, a major arterial street in Tulsa that is planned to be widened.  The downstream section will be constructed in the locally famous River Parks along the banks of the Arkansas River.

The sewer system is part of a linear park system (an adjoining trail that is used by joggers, bikers and sightseers) that provides the serene beauty and natural habitat of the Bald Eagle.  DeShazo Group will endeavor to design a line that will provide the least amount of disruption to local inhabitants and park users during construction.  Upon completion, vegetative cover and erosion control must be restored to ensure that there are no long-term impacts to the river or wildlife.

The engineering fees are based upon the total length of 6,170 linear feet of 42-, 48- and 66-inch diameter fiberglass reinforced resin pipes installed to avoid the corrosive effects of sewage.  Estimated cost for the project is $7.1M.

This project included the rehabilitation of a storm and street system carrying over 6,000 vpd in each direction from Riverside to Lewis for a major arterial street in Tulsa. The arterial serves the Riverside Park area as well as commercial shopping, educational, and upscale residential areas of the Brookside area.  DeShazo Group evaluated the water system and determined that break histories dictated that the 50-year-old line be replaced prior to improving the street system above it.  This additional effort resulted in replacing 4,000 lf of 12-inch cast iron lines with new Ductile Iron lines. The street was milled and overlaid with spot full depth repairs for the entire 1.5 mile length.  The project was bid at $3.4M in 2008 with estimated construction completion by November 2009.
This project involves the design of a 51,000-square-foot Verizon Wireless building with a future 21,500-square-foot building addition.  DeShazo Group worked with the client and the architect to lay out the site per the client’s needs and the City’s requirements.  A looped waterline extension in accordance to City of Tulsa’s requirements was designed for service to the site.  The site design took into account security space, generators, chillers and fuel tanks.  Two detention ponds were designed for master plan build out.  There was a large creek running along the southern boundary of the property that required two bridges to be designed to provide access to the site.  DeShazo Group worked with the bridge manufacturer to provide a decorative bridge that met the City of Tulsa’s requirements.  Project Cost $40M

This project involved the design of a 56 single-family residential subdivision in Glenpool, Oklahoma.  DT&A worked with the client to design a subdivision that would meet his goals of curvilinear streets, maximum park area, maintaining as much of the natural aspects of the property as possible while also meeting the engineering guidelines of the City.  The project consisted of two large park areas to serve as detention ponds and also parks for the subdivision.  There was a large Magellan pipeline running through the property around which the infrastructure had to be designed.  DT&A designed water, sewer, roads and storm sewer systems to supply the subdivision.  There was also a floodplain along the north end of the property that had to be considered in the design.

There have been several severe storms since the construction of the project and the City of Glenpool has stated how well the detention areas work and do not adversely impact surrounding land owners.  The project has resulted in a high-end subdivision in the town of Glenpool.  Project Cost $3.0M.
